Sandwich Diploma Programme The Sandwich Diploma Programme study is pursued by a student in 7 semesters of a 3½ year duration, the courses of 3 year regular Diploma Programme being regrouped for academic convenience. During 3rd Semester Students undertake Industrial training for 6 months. They also undergo course work in the institution for one day in a week. During 6th Semester they undertake another spell of 6 months Industrial training and undergo course work in the institution for one day in a week. The second phase of Industrial training is to be completed by the student before undergoing the 7th Semester courses. The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973 is followed for regulating the Industrial Training procedure for Sandwich Diploma Programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering. This conforms to the Industry Attachment Programme of Project IMPACT - SSS as envisaged by the Government of India. The performance and attendance of the student during the industrial training have to be satisfactory to continue in the Sandwich Diploma Programme.
