The All India Council of Technical Education’s [AICTE] main objective is to maintain the quality of Technical Education within the country at the highest possible level of excellence preferably on a par with the technical programmes offered in institutions across USA and Europe by introducing a quality auditing system. It periodically conducts evaluation of technical institutions and programmes. This exercise is designed to be rigorous with several inputs such as quality of teaching, levels of research, faculty expertise, appraisal of teachers by students and standard of infrastructure available in the campus. These are taken into consideration to arrive at a rational evaluation.

In the year 2003 Murugappa Polytechnic College has undergone the rigorous system of evaluation and is credited with the unique honour of getting accreditation for the three years period for many of its disciplines, the details of which are given below.
