Recognition by Various Agencies

Centre for Development of Rural Technology (CDRT) The institution was selected for starting a Centre for Development of Rural Technology (CDRT) by HRD Ministry of Government of India in 1988 by which an Energy Park was developed in the campus. The institution collaborated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Energy, Government of India for fabrication and supply of solar devices and wind power devices for the society.

The institution is the only one in Tamil Nadu selected for the Project IMPACT by the Department of Electronics (DOE) now Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India for assistance through WORLD BANK and SWISS Government to develop a professional Training facility in the field of Electronics from 1991. As a continuation of the Project IMPACT, Sustainability Support Scheme (SSS) was executed to absorb, adapt and institutionalise the achievements made under project IMPACT.

Murugappa Polytechnic College is one of the four polytechnic Colleges in Tamil Nadu selected for Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project (CIICP) of Government of India and Government of Canada in 1992.

The Polytechnic College was selected for World Bank Assistance through Central and State government for development of infrastructure, quality improvement and for starting new courses in 1992. Sandwich Diploma Programme in Tool & Die Making was started in 1996 under the World Bank Assistance.
