Departmental Milestones The Department is run by experienced and eminent Surgeons. Headed by the Director and his team. Surgeries like Appendectomy, Circumcision, Hydrocele, Hernia, Laporatomy, Fistulectomy, Fissureectomy, Mastectomy, Orchiedectomy, Thyriodectomy, Cholecystectomy, Gasterectomy colon Surgery are performed. On an average 150 Surgeries are performed every month and around 3000 Patients are seen in a month. A modern and well equipped Operation Theatre with modern state of the art technologies (like Laproscopy) are being used in performing surgeries. Immunization Days Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays ( 2.00pm to 5.00pm) Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology This Department is run by experienced Obstetricians and Gynaecologists under the able leadership. Many major Surgeries like LSCS (Cesarean) with Sterilization, TAT , Abdominal & Vaginal Hysterectomies, Ovarian Cyst etc. are performed here. A modern labour room equipped with Cardio Toco Gram and other Foetal Monitors are used for conducting deliveries and photo-therapy units & baby warmers for the new born babies
Department of Gastroenterology The Department has been functioning since 1991. The Department is managed by Dr. K. Narayanasamy, MD, DM. Held Twice in a week on Wednesday and Saturday the Clinic caters to Diagnostic Upper Gastroendoscopy. Ancilliary services like Radiology, Ultrasonography and Laboratory are available which aid in the Diagnosis of the Disease. Common Gastro problems encountered are Peptic Ulcers, Oeasophagal and Gastric Malignancy and Chronic Liver Diseases. So far more than 8000 Gastroendoscopies have been performed.
The Department is handled by two experienced and well versed Dermatologists. Dr. P. Sridhar, MD (Derm.) and Dr. M. Sindupriya, MBBS., DD., see an average 100 Patients in a day. The Patients come with different Skin Ailments especially infectious Vitiligo, Chronic Eczema, Hair Disorders, Urticaria. All these ailments have been treated successfully; special Cryo Surgical Spray treatment given to Warts, Cornfoot, Skin Tags, Keloids and small Tumors.
The Department sees an average of 2800 patients every month and perform around 35 surgeries. The patients come with different problems related to ear,nose & throat. Major surgeries like Tonsiliectomy, Mastoidectomy, Stepedectomy, Septoplasty, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery are performed here using modern and well equipped operation theatre with state of art technologies like ENT Microscope etc
The Department is handled by two experienced opthalmologists. Dr.S. Sumathi Anand, MS (Opthal) and Dr. Usha Kamalanathan, MBBS., DO. (Opthal) see an average of 1600 Patients in a month. The Patients come with different Eye related problems. Eye problems are detected through Computerized Auto refractometer & Keratometer. There are also facilities to detect Cataract, Glaucoma and other ailments. The Following State of the Art Technologies are used for Surgeries
Keeping in mind, the need to provide Healthcare to the poor and the needy sections of the Society, the Cardiology Department with a 24 hrs Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was started in the mid 1990s. Many cases of Myocardial Infarction, cardiac failure, ischemic cardio vasular disease, diabeties and hypertension have been successfully treated. Support services such as treadmill, echo, ECG, Xray and scan facilities complement the treatment.
Dr. D. Bhaskaran, MBBS who has training in Acupuncture from International Institute of Acupuncture and Alternative Medicine, Sri Lanka. has treated many chronic diseases like Bronchial Asthma, Alergic Rhinitis, Sinusitis, Migraine, Dermatitis, Excema, Psoriasis, Infertility, Leucorahore, Hormonal Imbalance, Menstrual Problems, Hemiplegia, Poliomyelitis, Facial Paralysis, Trigerminal Neuralgia, Sciatic, Neurolgia, Epilepsy, Anxiety Neurosis, Cervical Spondylitis, Osteoarthritis, Rheumetoid Arthritis, Insomnia, Diabeties Mellities, Hypertension, Endocrine Disorders, Addiction to Alchol, Smoking and Drug Addictio, Obesity, Gastritis, Eye disorders Partial Deafness, Ear Discharge Motor Neuro Disease etc. Around 25 patients are seen everyday in the clinic.
The Dental Department is the oldest one in the Hospital. It has been managed by Dr. V. N. Sujeer, BDS, for the past 41 years. The Services offered by this Department are Oral Tooth Diagnosis & Medicine, Oral Radiology, Maxilli-Facial Surgery, Operative Dentistry, Preventive Dental Care, Paedodontics, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics. The Clinic has a Computerized Dental Unit.
