About Us

History  This
is a private aided institution managed by the AMM Foundation. It is named after
AMM Vellayan Chettiar, son of Dewan Bahadur A.M. Murugappa
Chettiar. AMM Vellayan Chettiar was also one of the founder members of AMM
Charities Trust.
The
present High School was taken over by the trust from district board in
1963. It was taken over by the AMM Charities Trust from the erstwhile District Board in the year 1963. The School, situated on a 11.66 acre
campus, is located on Thiruvottiyur High Road, in a densely populated and
highly industrialised locality where a real need for a modern school was
felt. It caters to the children of the workforce in the large
industrial complex, CUMI, besides the children of the fisherfolk of the
locality. The school has modern, well equipped buildings and a large
playground.
